This project came to me because of a need for an aftermarket modification to this gun’s hammer and trigger. The original hammer and trigger in the popular Berretta Rifle are made of plastic by injection molding, which is not really strong enough for the application. I was hired to make a CAD model of both parts, so that they could be produced with stronger materials, in the US.
This project involved aquiring 3D light scans of the original hammer and trigger, importing those 3D scans into the CAD software, and then constructing a 3D model of each. These files were then sent electonically to a machinist to mill out of solid metals. The client needed the hammer to be made of stainless steel and the trigger is made of aircraft aluminum. The parts are being produced and sold by Shooting Partner in Portland Oregon.
