Each project usually starts with your rough ideas – maybe a sketch or two – then we collaborate about the best direction to pursue your design. We establish your needs and goals for this project or product – maybe you need a simple design for a product pitch, or a completed physical prototype to further determine it’s marketability and functionality. I can also create technical drawings for the patent process or manufacturing.
The process can be very exciting and fun. I completely enjoy the energy of a new invention coming to life. I believe in refining the design in virtual space, until we reach a model that meets all of the needs of the project. This minimizes the number of physical prototypes needed to prove the design. Translate this to less money spent in the design process. My clients appreciate this “boot strapping” mentality of mine.
I enjoy partnering with a client to create the best product possible! After each design iteration, we can start a Mikogo screen sharing session, and I can share with you my design on your computer, so that you can see and interact with my CAD software as I make corrections or changes to the design. Alternatively I can send you a 3D PDF that you can spin around in 3D space and take apart, so that I can walk you through the most recent changes to your design. This enables us to collaborate from remote locations.
Once we are satisfied that our CAD model can be built and believe that it will work, I then send it out to a 3D printer or have it milled out of a solid material of your choice.
